Addressing the barriers to scale.
Capacity and infrastructure. Impact monitoring. Adequate financing. Fix these, and restoration goes global.
One system for restoration.
We build capacity and infrastructure where it is most needed, revolutionise impact monitoring, and make restoration sustainable through innovative financial mechanisms.
Restoration & rewilding at scale
Capacity and infrastructure where it is most needed, and blueprint projects that show how restoration works at landscape scale.
ExploreTechnology for impact monitoring
Revolutionising impact monitoring so the success or failure of interventions can be robustly and cost-effectively measured.
ExploreInnovative financing
Making restoration sustainable through financial mechanisms that reward verified outcomes for nature and people.
ExploreLeadership
Training African leaders to build and run large-scale nature restoration and regenerative agriculture projects.
ExploreMt Kenya: one credit, three outcomes.
Toggle to see how an integrated credit weighs biodiversity and people alongside carbon.
Mt Kenya Landscape Restoration
Working with community and private conservancies to develop an integrated carbon and biodiversity credit, with human wellbeing and biodiversity weighted on the same level as carbon.
Seven more ways we restore.

Impact Monitoring Technology
Audit-grade systems that set high-integrity baselines and measure change in biodiversity, carbon, water and human wellbeing. Kutuma ingests and sorts field data from remote sensors and AI; uKweli presents the trends on an intuitive dashboard, with every data point carrying a digital footprint third parties can audit.
Rewilding Units: Orange River Karoo Conservation Area
With the local Nama conservancies and ORKCA, piloting Rewilding Units: a financial instrument that secures new land for conservation and funds the critical early years of a protected area, through an escrow model that disburses only as verifiable milestones are achieved.
Impact Bonds: Lion Bond and Whale Bond
Shifting conservation funding to a verified pay-for-success model. The first Co-existence Bond, the Lion Bond, with Lion Landscapes and WildCRU in the Selous–Nyerere landscape; and a Whale Bond with Conservation Alpha, the Canadian Wildlife Federation and Blue Bond Accelerator.
Supporting Custodians of Nature
With Oxford University, Lion Landscapes, the WildCAT Trust and local communities, developing Custodian Credits that reward nature custodianship and productive coexistence, starting with communities who live with lions.
The Natural State Centre for the Nature Economy
With WRTI, AgWild, WildTeam and the African Leadership University: skills-based courses and a restoration start-up incubator for African leaders, with a focus on indigenous peoples and local communities, women and youth.
Local and Indigenous Knowledge
A centre, managed by community members, where traditional approaches, beliefs and knowledge about restoration and regenerative agriculture are documented, shared and turned into climate resilience strategies.
XPRIZE Finals
One of 6 teams in the finals of the $10 million Rainforest XPRIZE, combining local and Indigenous knowledge experts, automated drone and satellite remote sensing, and drone-deployed canopy sensors for acoustics, imagery and eDNA, with Purdue, Illinois Tech and the Morton Arboretum.
From field to finance.
This rapid, cost-effective and robust process addresses the lack of baseline data in the Global South, and it will be used in all our projects.
uKweli · what the data shows
Every data point has a digital footprint.
Kutuma rapidly ingests and sorts data from the field. uKweli turns it into trends in biodiversity, carbon and human wellbeing that third parties can audit.
That audit trail is what lets restoration be paid for outcomes: integrated credits, rewilding units, custodian credits and impact bonds all rest on it.
Inside the Research CentreThe challenges are immense. Success is possible together.
